Trainer Profiles
Chris Seymour
Chris Seymour is fast becoming the most sought after personal trainer in the city as he continues to break the boundaries of physical evolution with his unique and compelling style of personal training. Completely avoiding the use of machines in his strength-training workouts, Chris utilizes specialised equipment such as kettlebells in conjunction with synchronised full body movements in order to train the body as a single muscle system as opposed to isolating specific areas at a time. Focusing on core, lean muscle development and fat loss, Chris combines his knowledge of exercise and nutrition with cutting edge techniques to ensure his clients maintain a super-lean physique whilst improving their overall performance and daily functionality in life.
Chris’s potential as an elite personal trainer was firmly established upon completion of his diplomas in Gym Management and Advanced Personal Training at Loots, endorsed by Pretoria University’s Sports Research Institute where he was later employed as a trainer and manager. Chris left Loots to work at Body excel, where he further excelled as a trainer whilst simultaneously proving himself as a key athlete at the Villager Rugby Club. Chris started One80 Personal Fitness Trainers in Tygervalley in 2004 but with popular demand from his ever increasing corporate clientele, he eventually moved the business to its current location in Cape Town’s foreshore in 2008. Now situated on the gound level of uber-trendy ENS House, One80 offers fantastic facilities and is conveniently located just a stone’s throw away from the hub of the city centre.
Nicholas Caracandas
Nick’s bubbly personality, friendly demeanor and exceptional training ability have established him as an integral part of the One80 setup. His grasp of the One80 style of training coupled with his vast knowledge of Martial Arts has seen his training take on an exciting yet unique mould within the gym.
Nick’s greatest passion (besides the breakfast at Food-Lovers) is Martial Arts, in particular boxing, k-1 and Muay Thai. Although Nick is well accomplished in Sports Specific training, he draws his strengths from 16 years of Martial arts training. He began his journey as an astute Karate student from the tender age of 6, and 7 years later he changed his style to the increasingly popular art of Muay Thai. With his specialised knowledge and ability to apply the basic techniques, he heads up our kick-boxing classes with great success.
If your training program has become dull and boring Nick is the trainer to ‘roundhouse’ it back to the fun, unique and inspiring workout that it should be!
